Texas historical marker to honor nearly century-old Texas Tech cottage

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - A piece of Texas Tech history will be memorialized this week.

The Lubbock County Historical Commission is partnering with the university to recognize the Human Sciences Cottage at the College of Health and Human Sciences.

A Texas historical marker will be unveiled commemorating the nearly century-old building, which was built in 1928.

The cottage was originally called the Home Management House. For more than 40 years, students inside learned how to run their own household.

A dedication ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the cottage.

Parking will be available in Lot R-13 south of Doak Hall. Everyone is welcome.
