Brazilian visitors came to Texas Tech to discuss engineering Wednesday.

Brazil has been the third largest region for Tech engineering students to go and learn. Three engineers visited the Whitacre College of Engineering to discuss modernization of undergraduate programs in Brazil.

"People are very open to collaborate. They already have come connection with the Brazilian institutions, researchers and professors. So it's a question of increasing the numbers and have more people coming back and forth," Dircetor of Fulbright Brazil Luiz Loureiro said.

The three men visited eight other schools before coming to Tech. Currently, Tech has six students from Brazil's Military Institute of Engineering doing research.

The Brazilians hope for these six to do PHD's and further create the connection between Brazil and Tech.
