First blockchain powered fitness band to help more people lead healthier lives launched in New Zealand
Technology company InfinitePay Limited is using blockchain to power their wearable technology in the hopes of helping millions of people start living a healthier life, while simultaneously incorporating blockchain technology in their everyday lives.
New Zealand – September 6, 2019 /MarketersMedia/ —
Reportedly the first of its kind, the InfiniteBand is a fitness band powered by blockchain technology. Similar to its traditional counterparts, the wristband is a data tracker and lifestyle band that covers all the essentials for the everyday user, including information for calories burnt, steps taken, heartbeat rate and blood pressure. The InfiniteBand also comes with its accompanying fitness app, which allows users to pull health and fitness data from their wristband.
Beyond these functions, the fitness band also offers something novel – an exclusive wellness programme powered by the emerging technology of blockchain. Together with the InfiniteBand, the company hopes to use its proprietary wellness programme to ease users into the world of blockchain.
Launched by InfinitePay Limited, the Burn to Earn philosophy is relatively simple: Burn calories to earn rewards. Participants can download the free InfiniteBand app, pair their InfiniteBand, and immediately start their Burn to Earn Programme. Upon successful completion of each Burn to Earn challenge, fitness credits are awarded to users. These fitness credits can be used to redeem any items from any participating merchants.
The gear is part of a blockchain ecosystem, and so are the fitness credits. Tom Wills, chief executive officer of InfinitePay Limited, said that the backgrounding of blockchain technology was strategic, and necessary.
The product and programme were designed by InfinitePay Limited, a technology company headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand. The company aims to be an autonomous and self-sustaining value exchange platform that can spearhead adoption of blockchain technology through everyday products and services.
“The InfiniteBand is a sleek fitness and lifestyle assistant that helps to maximise productivity, enhance health, and rewards users for doing so.” Tom said.
“For InfinitePay Limited, the InfiniteBand and Burn to Earn programme represent more than just sales and revenue. In particular, our latest brainchild, InfiniteBand, is the first step to easing the world into a new digital era of blockchain adoption. By integrating this nascent technology into familiar everyday gadgets, InfinitePay Limited hopes to gradually guide the world to adopt blockchain technology, in the same way that Web 2.0 transformed the world before.”
“And finally, for the blockchain community, this is a big step towards mass adoption. Disruptive as the technology may be, it need not necessarily throw the world into confusion. We are excited to see how InfiniteBand, powered by blockchain, is received by the general public. If it is well-received, we know we have succeeded in taking our first step to making blockchain accessible to the masses.”
