After clearing apartments and blocks of traffic, and using the SWAT team, Hobbs Police have arrested a man wanted for a murder last week in the 1000 block of South Elm Street. Arnulfo Barrientos-Ibarra, of Hobbs, died after being shot early Thursday morning.

Steven Salazar (pictured) of Hobbs, 30, was taken into custody Saturday morning. He is facing charges of second-degree murder and being a felon with a gun.

Police also arrested Scotty Casillas, 22, for harboring a felon.

According to an earlier news release, a judge has determined there will be no bond for Salazar.
