Women's Protective Services, Habitat for Humanity to host 'Luggage and Tote Bag' drive
Women's Protective Services and Habitat for Humanity will host a Luggage and Tote Bag drive on Saturday, July 20, for individuals and families who utilize Women's Protective Services.
They will be used for carrying victims' and clients' belongings, when they are taken to or from WPS.
WPS is looking for suitcases or backpacks, no matter their condition, as long as they are usable.
"Tote bags and luggage compared to a trash bag.. just self-esteem wise, it'll make a world of difference," Leslie Cox, marketing director of Habitat For Humanity and the project leader, said. "Because when you're walking out with your belongings in a trash bag compared to just a simple fabric tote or some sort of piece of luggage, it makes a world of difference."
You can drop off pre-owned tote bags, suitcases and backpacks at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 8004 Indiana Ave. in the Melonie Square Shopping Center on Saturday, July 20, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
