UPDATE: Second suspect involved in homicide arrested, Madrid charged
The second suspect in a double murder investigation turned himself into Hobbs police Wednesday.
Alfonso Aldaco, 25, has been charged with two counts of accessory murder. He is now being held at the Hobbs City Jail pending arraignment in Hobbs Magistrate Court.
Hector Madrid has been charged with two counts of first degree murder.
Police report Madrid and Aldaco went to the home where the murders took place to purchase heroin. After Madrid went inside the home shots were fired and Aldaco drove off with Madrid, according to police.
The investigation is still on-going but Hobbs police do not plan on any additional arrests.
The Lubbock SWAT team took part in a mulch-agency investigation in South Lubbock Wednesday evening.
Hobbs police report a double homicide investigation led them to an arrest in Lubbock. Investigators found a male and female dead inside a home in Hobbs Monday night, according to police.
Investigators report Rogelio Velasquez, 37, and Chrystal Moore, 42, were shot. Hobbs police contacted PD to apprehend Hector Madrid, 40. A second suspect is also wanted for the shooting and killing of Velasquez and Moore.
Police report around 5:45 p.m. Lubbock police, SWAT, Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit investigators and Texas Anti-Gang investigators responded to the area of 93rd Place and Ave. U to assist.
Hobbs police say the suspect is no longer a threat and is in custody.
