South Plains Fair celebrates Livestock and Equestrian Complex renovations
There are new facilities at the South Plains Fairground.
The fair and the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce unveiled the end of this nine month renovation Thursday.
The renovated Livestock and Equestrian Complex as the fairgrounds will provide better viewing and exhibition experiences year round.
"We are celebrating our upgrades to our facilities. They were build in the 1940's so it is kind of an overdue part of the fair's master plan. We kept the structure of the facilities, but everything else is brand new inside and outside," Jennifer Wallace, General Manger of the South Plains Fair, said.
Wallace added the facilities are available for outdoor use during the summer months, as well as indoor use in the winter.
Some of the new renovations including holding pens, covered horse stalls and led lighting.
The fair will open in late September.
