Man accused of choking girlfriend with 'chain link dog collar' indicted
A Lubbock grand jury indicted a man accused of choking his girlfriend with a chain link dog collar.
Police responded to a domestic disturbance call near 98th street and Justice Ave. Jeremy Hoover's, 20, girlfriend told police he placed a metal chain link dog collar across her neck and "choked" her, according to the police report.
The victim claimed Hoover then placed a razor blade against her neck saying he would kill her. The victim tried calling 911 but Hoover grabbed her cellphone to stop her, according to the police report.
Investigators report Hoover was in possession of methamphetamine.
He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance and interference with an emergency request for assistance.
