The Lubbock Metro Special Crime Unit and Texas Anti-Gang Center are investigating a deadly shooting late Wednesday night in central Lubbock.

Officers were called to the Lubbock Square Apartments on 50th Street west of Quaker, on reports of shots fired. Police found Tyshaun Bates, 20, shot in his apartment. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Investigators say two black men entered the apartment and got into a fight with Bates. At some point one of the men shot Bates. They are on the run.
