The sunny and hot conditions continued today with all the rain staying off to the west of us across New Mexico. Below is a look at some of the morning lows and afternoon highs from today.

The center of high pressure will remain directly overhead through the weekend which will set us up with sunny conditions and temperatures in the upper 90s/100s. The high pressure system will shift off to the northeast of us by the middle of next week which will allow our temperatures to cool some. At the end of the week we will have afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s.

A cold front will also move down at least into the Texas Panhandle and possibly even into the South Plains at the end of the week. Along this front we will likely see some showers and thunderstorms form, although with plenty of uncertainty about how far south the front will make it, it remains to be seen whether we will see any rain or not. If we were to see any rain that likely would not be until Thursday or Friday.

Happy Friday! I hope you have a great weekend and be sure to kick it off with us tonight on the News at Nine. Christopher will have all the forecast updates for you this weekend.
