The man wanted for an overnight stabbing murder at the Lubbock Square Apartments is now in custody.
Police say Ethan Scott, 19, turned himself in at approximately 2 p.m. Monday at the Lubbock County Detention Center without incident.
Around 11:15 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call for service for a civil disturbance at the complex, located at 4602 50th Street. Two occupants of an apartment, 54-year-old Eddie Pair and Scott, got into a fight over damaged property.
According to an arrest warrant for Scott, a witness heard them arguing. She went outside and found Pair laying on the ground bleeding.
Another witness told police the two were arguing and Pair turned to walk out of the apartment, according to the warrant. As he walked out, Scott retrieved what was described as a samurai sword and stabbed Pair in the back.
Pair was taken to University Medical Center and was later pronounced dead.
Scott's bond is set at $250,000.
