Texas Pom Squad alum

Patrick Mahomes isn't the only Red Raider turned Kansas City Chief. Former Texas Tech Pom Squad members Hailey and Dominic are on the cheerleading squad also representing West Texas.

Patrick Mahomes has put Lubbock on the map representing Texas Tech, but he isn't the only Red Raider turned Kansas City Chief.

Former Texas Tech Pom Squad members Hailey and Dominic now both cheer for the Chiefs.

Hailey is in her second year with the Chiefs and Dominic breaking barriers in his rookie season as the first male dancer cheerleader.

This season has been unusual from virtual tryouts to not being allowed to cheer on the actual field.

However, both Hailey and Dominic say the team has made the most of it and they both just feel lucky to have had a season at all - and of course the opportunity to cheer on the same quarterback on the big stage.

"I am so proud to represent our university. I know that we are so close to the Cowboys that that's where a lot of people go, and it's just fun to see Texas Tech being represented somewhere else," Hailey said. "And now having three of us there it's just a really fun time to be a Chiefs fan that's also a Red Raider."

"And then we got to kind of travel as a little pack to Kansas City. So it definitely makes that connection a little more special since we are all Red Raiders at heart," Dominic said. "We love both the organization and the school, so it's just incredible."
