LBCK case update Friday, Feb. 5

Three more people have died from COVID-19 and its complications in Lubbock County the city confirmed Friday. 682 total people have died from the virus since mid-March. 

The Lubbock health department reported 76 new cases of COVID-19. This brings the total number of active cases to 1,396. 

110 more people have recovered from a known case, with 45,289 total recoveries reported. 

86 people are being treated in a Lubbock hospital, with 28 patients in an ICU. 

The 22-county region's most recent hospitalization rate, according to city data, is 8.83 percent. This means our region is no longer considered an area of high hospitalizations and can ease its restrictions.
