LUBBOCK, Texas - One victim is dead, two others are injured, and the man investigators believe is responsible is also dead following a shooting early Saturday morning near Wolfforth.

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office responded just after midnight to a call of shots fired in the 9200 block of Barton Avenue. This is just southeast of the Wolfforth city limits, and northwest of 98th Street and Alcove Avenue at the Lubbock city limits. A neighbor told KCBD she heard dozens of gunshots.

Responding deputies found three gunshot victims: Cynthia Green, Louis Green and Brice Green. According to a Sheriff’s Office news release, deputies were told the suspect, Michael Green, had then moved into a recreational vehicle on the property. Deputies later heard two gunshots, then set up a perimeter and called for the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Michael Green on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The news release states the SWAT team was not able to make contact with Michael Green. The team then entered the RV and found him with what appeared to be two self-inflicted gunshots. EMS pronounced him dead on-scene.

The Sheriff’s Office later identified Michael as the son of Cynthia and Louis Green and Brice Green as Michael’s nephew.

Cynthia Green died from her injuries at the hospital. Brice Green is still being treated at the hospital, Louis Green has been treated and released.

A GoFundMe has been organized to help pay for funeral expenses.
