LFR contains south Lubbock gas leak, roads remain closed

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Emergency crews responded to a gas leak in south Lubbock on Tuesday morning.
Around 9:27 a.m., police and fire were called to the area of 114th and Chicago for reports of a gas leak. Fire officials stated a 4-inch line was cut during an excavation. Atmos was called to the scene to repair the leak.
One business along 114th was evacuated. However, no injuries have been reported.
Officials stated the gas leak has been controlled. As a precaution, streets between Slide and Frankford will remain blocked.
