Lubbock celebrates Christmas season with holiday events
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The City of Lubbock, Texas Tech and local organizations are celebrating the Christmas season throughout the month of December with holiday events galore! Volunteer as a bell ringer! The Salvation Army needs bell ringers from November 14 to December 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Visit www.RegisterToRing.com for more information.
The 66th annual Santa Land will be open this year from December 10 through 22 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will resume as a walk-thru event!

The 10th annual Christmas Festival Synchronized Light Show opens Nov. 29, at Wayland Baptist University’s Lubbock campus and continues nightly through Jan. 3.

The National Ranching Heritage Center will be dressed in all its holiday finery for the 44th Annual Candlelight at the Ranch. Join the tradition on Friday, December 9 & Saturday, December 10 from 6:30 – 9 p.m. at the National Ranching Heritage Center in Lubbock.

Cocoa, Cookies and Popcorn Pajama Storytime at Groves Branch Library - Join us for holiday stories and crafts from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.! Groves Branch Library is located at 5520 19th Street.
Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Posadas - Our Lady of Grace Lubbock will hold opening night of the Posadas on Friday, Dec. 16 - 22. They will be reenacting Mary and Joseph’s search for lodging in Bethlehem at 7 p.m. The reenactment will be followed by a fellowship dinner and a pinata!

The Haven’s Christmas for the Animals - Donation drive and open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Haven Animal Shelter located at 4501 N FM 1729. Texas Tech Carol of Lights and Centennial Celebration - The 64th Annual Carol of Lights will serve as the official kickoff for Texas Tech’s Centennial Celebration. This annual event, hosted by the Residence Halls Association, is attended by thousands of students, alumni and members of the Lubbock community and is one of our largest and oldest traditions. This year’s ceremony, produced in conjunction with the Office of the President, will be reimagined with live entertainment, new staging, lighting, and sound as well as a firework display to conclude the night. This will be a spectacular evening for the entire family as we usher in the official start of Texas Tech’s Centennial Celebration.

17th Annual Miracles Christmas Parade - The 17th Annual Miracles Christmas Parade is set for Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 6 p.m. The parade route is down 34th Street starting at 34th and Avenue Q and going west to Indiana Avenue. Visit the parade website at www.miraclesparade.com for all details.
Santa Paws - Celebrate the Howl-idays with Hodges Community Center! Stop by for a photo with Santa at our Annual Santa Paws event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meet with local vendors and receive free microchipping provided by Lubbock Animal Services. We’re sure to have a dog-gone good time and hope to see you there! Photos will be $5.00 per family and attendance is free for all ages. Holiday Craft Bazaar - Shop for unique holiday gifts at the Copper Rawlings Community Center’s 22nd Annual Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check out all the crafts and goodies that your community has to offer. Items include wood crafts, ornaments, jewelry, candles, dolls, toys, baked goods and more. Admission is free and includes a chance to earn door prizes! Breakfast with Santa - Bring your kids and grandkids to Maxey Community Center for their Annual Breakfast with Santa from 10 a.m. to noon. This event is the perfect way to start the Christmas season. Sip & Shop event - On Saturday, Dec. 3, Lubbock’s best local vendors will be at the Crossroads Event Center in Wolfforth from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event center is located at 10107 CR 1300. Admission is free to the public. Shoppers can enjoy food trucks and wine with Oswald Vineyards of Brownfield!
Holiday at the Museum - The Museum of Texas Tech University invites you to Holiday at the Museum on Sunday, December 3, from 2- 4 p.m. A family event with free admission and free parking.

Llano Estacado Christmas Market - The Llano Estacado Winery is hosting its first Christmas Market from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is free and will have many local vendors, music, food and a snowball fight. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will also be in attendance.

Hospice of Lubbock tree-lighting - The public lighting ceremony of the “Hospice Blue” tree is at 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 7 at Lakeridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd Street. The tree will remain lit throughout December as a tribute to the patients and families served by Hospice of Lubbock.

Sip & Shop event - Saturday, Dec. 10, more than 50 local vendors will be at the Bus Event Center in downtown Lubbock from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event center is located at 1313 13th Street.
Pancho Clos event - Join Fiestas Del Llano and Parks and Recreation on Saturday, Dec. 10, for the Annual Pancho Clos. All children will receive a small bag of candy and fruit, and will also have the opportunity to tell Pancho Clos their Christmas wishes. Children 12 and under will receive a free toy from Pancho Clos. Free hotdogs will be served to all attendees while supplies last.
Holiday Wonderland - Join the Science Spectrum, Saturday, December 10th from 10:00am to 2:00pm, for a Christmas themed family event that has become a favorite Holiday tradition.
Family Story time at Mahon Library - A special weekend story time for the whole family! Saturday, Dec. 10 from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Mini and Friends South Plains pictures with Santa - Mini and Friends South Plains is hosting a pictures with Santa event Saturday, Dec. 10 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Come get your pictures with mini horses and Santa at the 98th and Quaker Market Street location. Pictures are $5 printed from our camera and $3 from your camera.
