Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle in Downtown Lubbock
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - A pedestrian was stuck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Downtown Lubbock.
Just after 3:00 p.m., officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Broadway and Texas Ave.
73-year-old Mary Balderas was taken to UMC with life-threatening injuries where she later died.
Investigators say an 18-year-old driving a pick-up truck was in the process of turning into the southbound lanes of Texas Ave. when Balderas was struck.
No arrests have been made. The crash remains under investigation.
