Central Lubbock police chase ends in arrest

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - One person was arrested early Wednesday morning after leading police on a chase through Central Lubbock.

26-year-old Xavier Perez was arrested and charged with evading in a motor vehicle, unlawful carrying of weapons and drug possession.

Just after 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance call at the Silver Bullet near 54th and Aberdeen Ave. A caller told dispatch they saw someone they believed to be armed with a gun.

Police say officers already in the area responding to an unrelated call heard shots being fired. An officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle leaving the bar believed to be related to the incident.

Perez did not stop leading to a pursuit across town. The chase ended near 58th and Ave. G where officers found a firearm inside the car.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
