LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - 98th Street is now back open after Lubbock Fire Rescue and South Plains Electric Cooperative responded to a gas leak on Tuesday afternoon.

A four-inch natural gas line was struck at the intersection of 98th and Albany Avenue around 3 p.m. on July 5.

Traffic was shut down on 98th Street between Chicago Avenue and Slide Road.

LFR went door-to-door to take gas readings. Homes were evacuated on an individual basis. About 20 homes were evacuated.
