2 injured, 1 seriously in Central Lubbock shooting

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Two people were injured in a shooting in Central Lubbock Monday afternoon.
Around 4 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call near 50th and Belmont Ave.
Police say a man was following 23-year-old Emily Whiteley in a car when he started shooting at her. Whiteley was seriously injured.
As the suspect was fleeing the scene, investigators say he then struck 27-year-old Leita Whiteley with his vehicle. She suffered moderate injuries. Both victims were taken to UMC.
The case remains under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
