Good Day Good Dog, Tarzan!
LUBBOCK, Texas (KJTV) -
This is Tarzan. He’s a 2-year-old rottweiler. He’s named Tarzan because he’s such a big, muscular boy. LAS also says he is a gentle giant! He does well on a leash and loves calm 4-legged friends. He loves people and wants to snuggle.

Over the next several weeks, there will be a series of tips posted here from a helpful guide for bringing home a rescue or a shelter dog.
Today, starts with things that would be helpful before you actually bring a dog home. You’ll first want to make sure you pick up things on your floors - electrical wires hanging low, kids toys or other small items on the ground. Next, give your yard a walkthrough - make sure your fence is in good shape with no holes, and make sure gates are closed and latched. Then you’ll want to purchase a crate large enough for the dog you’re adopting and put it in a quiet place to give your new dog a place to find refuge and decompress. Finally, make sure all necessities are on hand like food, water bowls, a collar, and a leash - a few toys would be nice, too.
