LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - One person is moderately injured after an overnight shooting in Central Lubbock.

Police say officers were called to CC’s Bar and Grill near 50th and Avenue Q around 12:30 a.m. for reports of shots fired. Police say it appears a fight broke out inside the bar, and management removed everyone involved in the fight. Four of the people involved got into a vehicle, drove by the front of the bar and then shots were fired.

When police arrived, they found 34-year-old Ruben Sandoval had been shot. He was taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Several LPD officers, along with Lubbock Sheriff’s Office deputies were in the area and were able to respond to the scene within a matter of minutes, at which point the suspect vehicle led officers on a short pursuit.

According to LSO, the suspect vehicle traveled East on 52nd onto I-27 to 98th street then back onto several streets before coming to a stop on 58th and York where four occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident.

Two arrested were identified by the Sheriff’s Office: Joe Arredondo was arrested and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center for Evading Arrest Detention with a Motor Vehicle. Rico Aguilar was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Burglary of Habitation.

This is still an ongoing investigation.
