LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - One person was injured after an overnight shooting in South Lubbock.

The police report identifies the victim as Dustin Dee Martinez.

Police were called to the area near 82nd and University in reference to shots fired. Dispatchers were told the victim was possibly shot in the area of 108th and Boston Ave. Police say the shooting victim was taken to Covenant by private vehicle.

The victim told police he and the suspect were fighting and the suspect shot him with a gun.

Officers set up a perimeter at a crime scene in the 2700 block of 108th Street. The police report shows several attempts were made to contact the suspect but no contact was made.

Evidence was found and collected.

The victim’s injuries are considered non-life threatening.

A suspect has not been detained at last report.
