Christ the King announces transformation from Parochial to Diocesan High School

Posted:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

Christ the King will begin the new school year as a Diocesan High School. Its transitioning from a parochial school, along with bringing in a new principal for its Catholic High School.

Principal Eric Gray said while these changes are for the schools new vision, he hopes to help make the transition easier.

"The changes are really here because of the vision of the bishop and Diocese, the things they've talked about with the Presbyteral Council and everyone around the community," he said. "So the changes happening are not my changes, they're changes of the Diocese already. I just happen to be one of those who are in to take a position and help facilitate that change according to the vision that's already here."

The high school serves students representing nearly every one of the 10 Parish communities in Lubbock. Last year the school had its largest enrollment.
