Paving project underway in South Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas -

City of Lubbock

Beginning on Monday, July 15, West Texas Paving, under contract with the City of Lubbock, will begin paving improvements to University Avenue from 130th Street to Woodrow Road.

The improvements are part of a joint project between the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Betenbough Homes, LLC, and 1585 Development, LLC (Thomas Payne). This project will replace existing failed paved surface and base structure with new asphalt base and road surface. The project is expected to take 90 days to complete.

There will be intermittent closures and detours throughout the project. To avoid long delays, drivers are asked to use an alternate route during construction. If traveling in a work zone, please slow down and pay attention for the safety of the workers and the driver.
