LPD investigators locate stolen car, 2 suspects arrested

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock Police Department

At approximately 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, investigators with the Lubbock Police Department spotted a stolen vehicle stopped at stop sign near 29th street and Ave. N.

Investigators turned on their emergency lights and attempted to contain the stolen vehicle to prevent the suspects from getting away. The suspects tried to go around the investigators, causing damage to one of the LPD units and the stolen car.

The two suspect got out and ran from the officers. After a short pursuit, one the of suspects was quickly taken into custody. Additional officers arrived on scene to search the surrounding neighborhoods for the second suspect.

During the search, an LPD K9 unit located the second suspect in an abandoned home near 27th and Ave. L. 

Both suspects were arrested and will be booked in the Lubbock County Detention Center.
