UPDATE: 2 killed in crash west of Plainview, 1 seriously injured

PLAINVIEW, Texas -

UPDATE: 

Names of the deceased are 53-year-old Rosalva Dorantes and 60-year-old Eduardo Dorantes of Olton, both of Olton. 

Injured: 18-year-old Mary Dorantes. 

The driver of the vehicle hauling the trailer that disconnected, 61-year-old Joe Guerrero, was not injured.

 

ORIGINAL STORY:

Just after 3 p.m. EMS and the Plainview Fire Department responded to a major vehicle crash just east of the intersection of West US Highway 70 and Sun Road.

According to city officials, PFD found one vehicle with three passengers trapped inside a car and used the jaws of life. 

State Troopers report a car carrying the three passengers was hit by a disconnected flat-bed trailer on the highway. 

Firefighters called for two helicopters from Aerocare to the scene to transport two of the critically injured victims to UMC. The third victim was taken to Covenant Hospital in Plainview. 

The driver and front passenger died. Their names have not been released.
