Former Parmer County Deputy Sheriff charged with sexual contact of a minor

A former Deputy Sheriff of Parmer County, accused of sexual contact with a minor, has been jailed. 

Investigators with the Curry County Sheriff's Office arrested Davin Waters, 25, Sunday. Waters is charged with six counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor perpetrated on a child under 13 years-of-age. 

According to the sheriff's office, Waters reportedly engaged in sexual acts with a child on three separate occasions since December of 2018. Sheriff's report the incidents reportedly took place in a bathroom at a church in Texico, NM. 

Waters was employed as a Deputy Sheriff in Parmer County and has since been terminated. 

He was booked into the Curry County Detention Center and is awaiting a detention hearing.
