LUBBOCK, Texas -

Three Lubbock Police Department motorcycle officers traveled to Odessa to honor fallen LPD motorcycle officer Rodney Kendricks on Friday.

Kendricks was killed in the line of duty in July 2001, where he passed away from his injuries several days later on July 8.

Since his death 18 years ago, members of LPD's motorcycle unit have traveled to Odessa to visit Kendricks' grave site and attend the Odessa Police Department Peace Officer Memorial.

In remembrance of his service, some of the officers were able to meet and visit with Kendricks' mother and family members.
