LUBBOCK, Texas -

Saturday is Lemonade Day in Lubbock.

Nearly 1,000 students will be scattered around the city, many using money borrowed from a bank, to run their own lemonade stands.

These young entrepreneurs have to learn everything: the costs of production, the work that goes into it, balancing the books, how to set prices, and everything in between. It also emphasizes spending, saving and donating.

Each student is encouraged to support a charity of their choosing with a portion of their revenues. Last year the average charitable donation was more than $90 a stand.
