LUBBOCK, Texas -

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock has more much-needed support now, from its annual Golf for Kids' Sake tournament. It's the largest fundraiser for the mentor program, with all proceeds going to the agency.

Big Brothers Big Sisters partners children with role models. These volunteers help build self confidence, social skills and tutor them. It's all done at no cost to the child or family.

"Just a little help every now and then can make a huge difference," said Joel Mowery with ServPro of Southwest Lubbock. "Especially a positive influence on someone can make a big difference in someone's life."

There are about 100 kids right here in Lubbock waiting to be matched. If you think you may be a good fit to serve as a "Big", it only takes about an hour a week. And it can be as simple as going to the movies, to lunch, playing basketball or riding bikes. Click here - to learn more about the agency and how you can take part.
