Lubbock gas prices up three cents this week

LUBBOCK, Texas -

AAA Texas reported the average gasoline prices statewide increased by 6 cents to $2.18 per gallon. Drivers across the U.S. are paying 3 cents more for gas this week, averaging $2.41 per gallon. 

According to the survey, Lubbock and Amarillo areas have the cheapest gas in Texas, an average of $2.11 per gallon, and Midland with the most expensive gas statewide at an average of $2.42.

AAA officials said motorists in 40 states are seeing averages increase each week. Across the U.S. drivers can fill up for $2.50 or less at four in five gas stations. Pump prices have increased around the country as refineries prepare for spring gasoline production and maintenance season, as well rising crude oil prices.
