Lubbock ISD Trustees announce new Assistant Superintendent for curriculum and instruction

The Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees named Misty Rieber as the new assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction at their meeting this morning.

Rieber has been the leadership and professional development coordinator since 2014 and was the K-12 social studies coordinator from 2003-2014. Rieber was a teacher from 1995-2002 with assignments at Dunbar College Preparatory Academy and Estacado High School before serving as an assistant principal at O.L. Slaton Middle School from 2002-2003.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in history and education from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Lubbock Christian University. She is currently completing her superintendent’s certification.
