LFR responds to early morning fire at Jason's Deli

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to a fire at Jason's Deli early Wednesday morning.  

LFR reported crews arrived on scene, found a fire in the kitchen area and worked quickly to contain and extinguish it. LFR said the restaurant sustained approximately 5 percent damage and smoke damage throughout the entire restaurant.

The Lubbock Fire Marshal's Office has ruled the fire as accidental.

Jason's Deli released the following statement: 

Jason's Deli, located at 4001 S Loop 289 in Lubbock, is temporarily closed for repairs and cleanup after experiencing a kitchen fire in the early morning hours of the February 27, while the deli was closed. No employees or customers were present at the time of the fire. The Lubbock Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire and is now investigating the cause.
