Chilly and sunny today, stronger wind rest of the week

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Much calmer wind this morning with colder temperatures from the cold front that passed through last night.

TODAY: High at the average of 58, sunny sky with the wind staying light changing to the southwest.

TONIGHT: Clear sky and cold again with the low near 31.
WEDNESDAY: Temperatures on the rise with the high near 68, the wind will increase 15-25mph with a mostly sunny sky.

EXTENDED:  Temperatures will continue to stay mild through Saturday with the warmest day Thursday. The wind will also be increasing with these warm temperatures. This will likely lead to some more blowing dust and fire concerns for the area. Major changes Sunday and into next week, a major cool down with highs dropping to the 40s and 50s. Plus, there might be a chance for some snow as we get into next week. More details on this as we get closer with more model runs to verify.

Have a great Tuesday! Matt will be in tonight with the latest forecast update tonight on the News at Nine.
