UPDATE: Salvation Army short thousands on Red Kettle Campaign goal

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Salvation Army of Lubbock reported it's short about $30,000 in this year's Red Kettle Campaign Monday, the final day of the campaign. The campaign and its $250,000 goal is the Army's largest and most iconic fundraiser.

The Army's community relations coordinator reports the shortage is 5% less than what was raised last year, and 12% off its goal. All the money raised from the bell-ringer campaign goes towards drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs, emergency and disaster response, and daily shelter and meals for homeless people across our region.

There are many ways to support the Salvation Army of Lubbock, including donating to the red kettle during this campaign, or with volunteering or donations throughout the year. Click here for digital donation information, call at (806) 765-9434, or visit the Salvation Army's Lubbock headquarters at 1111 16th St.
