LUBBOCK COUNTY, Texas -

A mother's love life may influence how many partners her child has, a new study claims.

A research team at Ohio State University found that mothers may have certain characteristics that make them better or worse at relationships. Their children can then inherit and learn those characteristics, using them in their own relationships.

The study also found that people whose mothers had multiple relationships over time, were likely to do the same, especially when their mothers have lived in the same home with different partners over the years.

The takeaway - mothers can hinder their children's chances of forming stable relationships when they themselves have not had one.
