LUBBOCK, Texas -

It wasn't too long ago Lubbock liberals were protesting Jeff Sessions. Now they are demonstrating against his firing.

Led by Texas Tech students, Democrats held signs near 19th and University calling for support of Robert Mueller's investigation.

"Even though Lubbock is super conservative and we're in a Deep Red state...well not anymore, this is a purple state now," said Kenyan Medley, president of the Texas Tech Student Democrats. "But even through all that, there's still liberals out here. There are Democrats that, you know, want to stand up to the President and his administration.

"The right people are going to see that Americans aren't OK with this. So, I think it'll get the message to the right people."

Protesters held similar demonstrations in other cities, including Fort Worth, Memphis, Chattanooga, Chicago and New York.
