LUBBOCK, Texas -

Texas Tech freshman quarterback Alan Bowman was released from the hospital Wednesday afternoon. According to Tech Athletics, he'll "rejoin team activities" Thursday morning.

Bowman was hospitalized Saturday night for evaluation of reoccurrence of a previous partially collapsed lung. The first injury happened during the West Virginia game, hit from both sides while in the pocket.

The second injury happened late in the first half against the Sooners, on a quarterback keeper close to the goal line. He returned out of the locker room during half time, but was seen abruptly stopping his warm-up routine, taking his helmet off. He then walked back to the locker room.

Coach Kingsbury said Monday this injury was not as severe as the first. He did not give a timeline for the quarterback's return.

After leaving the West Virginia game Sept. 29 Bowman spent a few days in the hospital. He did not play in the TCU game roughly a week and a half later. He did return to play in Texas Tech's home win over Kansas Oct. 20.

Texas Tech led the Sooners at the half 31-28. Without Bowman, the team was not able to maintain the same level of offense, but was able to scrap to the end. Oklahoma notched the win 51-46.
