LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock Police Department says 52-year-old Hector Villarreal-Castaneda died at the hospital after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Idalou Road and East Broadway.

LPD says 20-year-old Kelly Walker was charged with intoxication manslaughter, and more charged could be possible.

LPD crash investigators will temporarily shut down the intersection of East Broadway and Idalou Road today at 10 a.m., to map the crash scene for the investigation. All traffic will be diverted away from the intersection. This closure is expected to last a few hours.

Lubbock Police Department crash investigators have reopened the intersection of Idalou Road and East Broadway after a fatal crash earlier this evening.

LPD received reports of a crash involving a Jeep Wrangler and a Chevy pickup truck at the intersection. Officers located the pickup driver, a 52-year-old male, with life threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Through an on scene investigation, the driver of the Jeep, Keely Walker, 20, was arrested and will be booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center for intoxication manslaughter.

It appears Walker disregarded a stop sign as she traveled eastbound on East Broadway through the intersection and struck the pickup truck that was traveling northbound on Idalou Road.

This crash remains under investigation by crash investigators with the LPD Traffic Unit.
