Floydada, Texas is known as the pumpkin capital of Texas. Saturday October 13, the Floydada Chamber of Commerce will host "Punkin Days” honoring one of the area’s most unique crops, the pumpkin. The event kicks off Saturday morning on the county courthouse square in Downtown Floydada. Throughout the day, families can enjoy a variety of arts and crafts booths, food, and games. There will also be a 5k run/walk, a classic car show, cow pattie bingo, a punkin pie eating contest, and costume contest for all ages and more. The evening will also feature a street dance in the square showcasing decorative and carved punkins gathered on the courthouse steps.
