Another warm one today, cooler weekend with storm chances

Another warm one today, cooler weekend with storm chances

Posted: Updated:

Clear sky now but some low clouds and patchy fog still possible through the morning.

TODAY: If the low clouds develop, they will diminish through the morning. Then mostly sunny, high near 86.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, low near 64. Another chance for low clouds and fog to develop.

WEEKEND: A tropical disturbance will continue moving inland this weekend across south Texas. That is where the heaviest rain will stay, but it will bring a chance for rain across the South Plains. Some pockets of heavy rain possible with the stronger storms. Highs will be cooler in the upper 70s to mid 80s for the area.

NEXT WEEK: This system will clear out and bring the sunny sky with warmer temperatures to the start of next week. Then another chance for some rain possible late next week.

CAROLINAS: Hurricane Florence has made landfall near Wilmington, NC this morning. Slowly moving ashore dumping a lot of rain. This will continue to move slowly into South Carolina, bringing major flooding through the weekend.

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend and Wreck Em' Tech! Matt will have the next update to the forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
