WHAT: West Texas Innovation Summit

WHO: More than one thousand teachers from across the Lubbock region

WHEN: 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Friday (August 10)

WHERE: Frenship High School Frenship Independent School District will host more than one thousand educators driven to advance scholastic success during the fourth annual West Texas Innovation Summit.

The Innovation Summit is a collaborative teacher training designed for local educators to share initiatives that target 21st century skills and amplify classroom experiences. Educators from area school districts will teach their colleagues best classroom practices, collaborate to exchange ideas, and learn new innovative strategies to engage today’s students.

Serving as this year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Rick Rigsby, President and CEO of Rick Rigsby Communications and author of best-selling book Lessons from a Third Grade Dropout.

Dr. Rigsby’s commencement speech at California State University shares how his father's teachings guided him through the most troubling times of his life. A video of his speech became a viral sensation with more than four million views on YouTube.
