SPC will host quilting orientation class

LUBBOCK, Texas -

South Plains College will host an orientation class for all of its quilting courses at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 20 (Monday) in Room 121 of the Technical Arts building. The course is provided by the SPC Division of Continuing and Distance Education.

The instructor will be Vickey Vest.

There will be three different quilting classes offered in fall 2018. During orientation, participants will receive a list of supplies including fabric yardage needed for their quilts. A sewing machine, ruler, rotary mat and rotary cutter are a few of the items needed for classes.

The Monday and Tuesday weekly class will start at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 9-10. The cost is $55.

The monthly Block of the Month class will start at 5:30 p.m. with the date to be determined during orientation. The cost of the class is $75.

The classes will include full instructions for piecing a quilt top with lots of tips and tricks to help students finish their quilts from beginning to end, including binding.
