Andrews County Sheriffs respond to vehicle pursuit

ANDREWS COUNTY, Texas -

At around 12:36 p.m. on Tuesday, Andrews County Sheriffs Office responded to a vehicle pursuit on U.S. 385 south of Andrews.

Codie Dee Seal, 32, was arrested for multiple charges including assault with a deadly weapon and evading the police. 

Ector County Sheriff and Texas Highway Patrol units followed the pursuit once it entered Andrews County. 

The suspect vehicle was a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta. The suspect vehicle maintained a traveling speed above 120 mph.

The suspect vehicle was traveling north bound, crossed over to the south bound lane nearly causing a head-on collision. Once the vehicle approached Andrews it turned around and started traveling west on U.S. 385.

According to police shots were fired at the front tire of the vehicle in an attempt to disable it, causing the vehicle to get stuck. 

Seal attempted to run on foot and was caught by deputies and city officers in a field north of the scene. 

Seal was taken into custody and transported to the Andrews County Jail.
