Breathing may help sculpt your abs

Posted: Updated:
If you're looking to get some abs for the summer, you may want to change your breathing habits.
Pilates instructors are swearing by breathing exercises, saying they can actually add muscle to your abdomen. "Sucking it in" may be as effective as 100 sit-ups a day.
The exercise focuses on flexing your core muscles while breathing. It should be done for one minute on, one minute off for three minutes before your next workout. You can do it lying down, kneeling or standing.
Instructors say you inhale, then relax your tummy, exhale then pull your belly to your spine, melt your ribs in, and lift up your pelvic floor. Having a strong core not only gives you incredible abs, it also good for your overall health.
