Storm chances continuing today, some strong to severe

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

It was good to see the rain across the area, not everyone received some though. Unfortunately, we also dealt with severe weather with multiple reports of large hail and high wind gusts to 80mph.

?
We are starting the day with showers and storms across the eastern half of the area. Nothing has been severe this morning, but some small hail and strong wind gust my accompany the storms. These are moving to the east around 20mph.

TODAY: High near 91, storm chances will continue with some severe storms possible. Large hail and high wind gusts will remain the threats with the stronger storms. Timing may start during the early afternoon hours and continue this evening.

EXTENDED: Staying mild into the weekend with storm chances decreasing Friday and Saturday. A cold front will bring cooler temperatures starting Sunday with another chance for showers and thunderstorms continuing through Tuesday.

We will keep you updated through the afternoon on FOX34 Facebook and Twitter Pages. Matt Will have the next update tonight on the News at Nine.
