LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech baseball placed 11 student-athletes on the 2018 Academic All-Big 12 teams, the league announced today.
Eight Red Raiders earned first team accolades, including: senior Jose Quezada, juniors Ty Harpenau, Davis Martin & Cameron Warren and sophomores Josh Jung, Caleb Kilian, Brian Klein & Clay Koelzer.
Senior Dylan Dusek and juniors Cody Farhat & Ryan Shetter were named to the second team. It was Farhat's second Academic All-Big 12 honor, who also received second team awards in 2017.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, while the second team selections hold a 3.00 or 3.19 GPA.
To quality, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshman and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
The No. 10 Red Raiders wrap up the regular season on May 17-19 against No. 14 Oklahoma State in Stillwater at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
