Buckner to celebrate construction start of first Family Hope Center in Lubbock

What: “Demo Day” kick-off to build a new Buckner Family Hope Center in Lubbock. Buckner International President and CEO Albert Reyes will join the Lubbock community to grab hammers and tear down the barriers to strong families by symbolically tearing down select walls of the Buckner Family Pathways campus to celebrate the addition of a new Buckner Family Hope Center.

When: May 17, 2018 @ 10 a.m.

Where: Buckner Family Pathways, 1510 S. Loop 289

Why: Buckner Family Hope Center services typically range from a variety of community events that engage families to parent edu- cation classes, job skills training, financial empowerment, family coaching, counseling and spiritual enrichment. Making Lubbock families stronger makes Lubbock stronger!

Who: Buckner Children and Family Services is a ministry of Buckner International, a faith-based ministry dedicated to transforming the lives of orphans, vulnerable children, families and senior adults in the United States and internationally. Founded in 1879 in Dallas, Texas, today Buckner serves people through a variety of programs designed to protect children and build strong families. Buckner Lubbock has been serving Lubbock since 1958, currently serving vulnerable children and families through:

  • Foster care and adoption
  • Buckner Family Pathways program that provides single-parent families safe housing as well as a varie- ty of other resources so they can reach their higher education goals
  • The Buckner FYi Center that ministers to children who have aged out of foster care.
