97 animals adopted during free event

Lubbock Animal Services is happy to report the adoption of 97 animals during the free adoption event held February 27 through March 5. Approximately 1,700 people visited the adoption center during this event. In addition, 32 owners reclaimed their animals, 7 animals went to rescues, and 5 are being fostered.

Lubbock Animal Services thanks the community for their support and reminds new owners to schedule the pet’s spay or neuter procedure within 30 days.

Anyone seeking a pet is encourage to visit the Lubbock Animal Shelter Adoption Center. It is located at 3323 SE Loop 289 and open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Volunteers are needed. Anyone interested in volunteer opportunities at the center can call (806) 775-3000, visit mylubbock.us/animalservices, or stop by the center to learn more.
